Sometimes the simplest solution is the most elegant and profound, and at Tony’s restaurant at the Centene plaza in St. Louis, Missouri, the addition of simple LED light panels helped transform the restaurant bar into a symbol of luxury. The lighting designer behind this beautiful illuminated bar is none other than award-winning design firm, KGM Architectural Lighting. Carrying a vision to uplight the bottles on display to elevate their luxurious appeal, KGM developed a design that would require the use of 16 LUXFIT LED light panels customized to fit into the rectangular spaces on the bar wall. Working with New York lighting rep Illuminations, Inc., it was determined that LEDCONN’s slim LUXFIT panels were the best fit because they would provide for the easiest experience from the perspective of mounting, customization, control/wiring, and illumination for such a tight space.
Each light panel was customized to provide a warm glow at 2700K and were fit to the designated bar dimensions. The light panels sat flush behind a provided diffuser and glass panel and were simply inserted into the designated areas, providing for a very quick mounting process. Wire exits were pulled to the back to provide an uncluttered appearance; a total of 3 0-10V dimmable 100V drivers were utilized to power all 16 panels from behind the bar facade.
Maintaining evenness was not an issue due to the high quality dot pattern technology of each customized LED light panel. LEDCONN’s dot pattern technology provides each panel with a customized dot pattern that helps to evenly diffuse light across the panel. And to further ensure the light quality, an opaque tape was applied to the edges of the panels to block out potential hotpots.
With skillful engineering and many years of experience illuminating luxury bars such as the one at Tony’s, LEDCONN helped the designer achieve their design intent within an efficient lead time and with few iterations in the planning process. The very customizable nature of LUXFIT made it an excellent choice for uplighting the gorgeous bar display, not only because of its visual appeal but also because of its ease of installation for this particular project.
